From experienced to a complete newbie

I started programming a desktop application that worked on a local network. About 10 years ago I migrated to client/server and SQL. This was a vast amount of rethinking, but I did it. The next generation of web applications is even more overwhelming. Now am I entering an unknown world and have to throw a majority of my knowledge in the waste bin. More or less, I have to begin from scratch. As a newbie on web development.

I was and I am developing using proprietary software, which locks you to this vendor for years to come. And have to pay shameless fees for support and runtimes.

This website is just an attempt to understand the workflow and find some useful tools and techniques. I hope this simple site will be useful for somebody and I am hoping for some feedback. My spelling could be funny, because English is not my native language.
